Young peoples visit to India with the Vidiyal Trust 2015

We are a group of young people from the Yare Valley churches which are venturing out to India this July and would just like to explain the sort of things we will be doing out there. We are all going to help the people that the Vidiyal Trust works with in as many ways as we can. During our visit we will be working on the Madurai project which may include opening the new complex for the elderly. Our aim is to make this new complex as welcoming and homely as we possibly can. Another thing we will be doing is taking 100 children for a day at Athisayam which will include a water park. This will give us a chance to get to know the children and for them to have an enjoyable day which they would not normally have had. Having lunch with the elders is also another thing on our itinerary so here we will be chatting to them and we have heard that they are very excited about meeting us! We are not going to India for a holiday nor to take pity on these people, but we are going to help them in as many ways as we can, whether this is decorating the new complex, visiting the elders or just simply being able to talk to them or have a game of football with the children (who are, apparently, great fans of Norwich City!). Thank you to everyone who has been helping us raise the money that is needed…
